Honestly I think the series is under done, and the solutions to all the problems are incredibly illogical. If I was in these situations I could have ended most of the problems at the end of the 4th book. Be all "Oh shit! Voldemort!" and then pull out a gun shoot his stupid snake ass, run up there, take his wand, break his hands, break his legs, and lock his dumb ass up. Problem solved and we could have had three whole books of new villians, new problems, and overall better plot.

I thought the movie was great.

Comedy: 8/10 (really funny)
Romance: 5/10 (more than the over movies, but still not a lot)
Violence/Fighting: 4/10 (I would've liked to see more, especially at the end)

I thought Bella did a great job, so did Draco and Harry (like usual). I still am upset about Narcissa though.

Sure, a few of the girl characters had single tears on their cheeks, but if I remember from the book, the entire school grieved deeply.

Another good one is Snape's reaction to being called a coward in both instances. The first (with the Unbreakable Vow) is forgivable since the insult does change his mind. But the second time, when called it by Harry, apparently doesn't affect him at all, even though the accusation of cowardice is supposed to really hit a nerve.

An example of over-acting: Hermione's reaction to Ron and Lavender's kiss. Assuming that Ron and Hermione's mutual affection in the book was present before Dumbledore's funeral (which it wasn't) it wouldn't nearly be right out in the open, with Hermione crying freely about Ron, then trying to jinx him once he notices. Just cartoony exaggeration if you ask me.
I personally believe the acting Bonnie Wright did was quite excellent and one of the best done in the film out of all the actors.

acting appears to be much improved, maybe having the same director helps there on this one, also the kids are much older now that helps, agree that gambon is much improved in the movie, as well as the other actors in the movie, bonnie wright as ginny seemed to be so much better.

Unhappy seriously disappointed :(((

All i thought as i was watching it was . . . this doesn't seem like Harry Potter

Although it was a gd movie i found there were many positives and negatives. i didn't enjoy it as much as i hoped i would

Heres my list of negatives . . .

1. The movie was seriously rushed! it jolted from scene to scene to quick so i could never connect to a scene.

2. They cut out Voldemorts memories which are essential to the next book! Hows harry supposed to know to look for the cup and the diadem let alone that hes supposed to kill Nagini!!!???

3. The made up scenes like the fight at the burrow could have been good but again i found them rushed and i don't know what they are going to do about the wedding at the burrow and stuff for the 7th if its been burned down :S!!!

4. The addled bit where ginny takes harry to the room of requirement and makes him close his eyes as she hides it doesn't work!!! harry needs to have seen the diadem of Ravenclaw there on the warlock bust so he can recall seeing it in the 7th book!

5. No affence to the cast but the acting went downhill i found It was really unconvincing and almost sarcastic.

6. I think this film should have been balanced out a lot more, theres a bit of an overload of comedy because every other line seems to be a joke or sarcastic comment. I wish they had emphasized the horcruxes and tom riddles memories more than the love triangle between lavender ron and hermione.

7. I wish the dursleys could have been in this one, the start with the girl in the trainstation cafe was really unneccesary

8. they missed out dumbledores funeral

9. the movie was weirdly silent throughout, the soundtrack had really been underused.

Theres more but those are my main dissapointments . . .

Positives however are . . .

1. There were some really funny moments like ron trialling for quiddich and when ron and harry were fighting over the tatty and new book in potions and the whole Hermione/Mclaggen parts were so funny DD

2. Tom Felton played Malfoy superbly!

3. hair and makeup did a fantastic job with all the characters, Fenrir Greyback for example looked amazing!

4. Jessie Cave played the Ron-infatuated Lavender so well it was the perfect role for her

5. The Cave Scene where Dumbledore is drinking the potion was very well depicted by daniel radcliffe and micheal gambon!

6. The scene with draco and dumbledore (and them being later joined by the death eaters and snape) was great, again tom felton was excellent!

7. The start where the death eaters are wrecking havoc was excellent! It was great but i must admit i missed the dursleys!

8. The orphanage tom riddle played by Hero fiennes was perfectly cast and it was a great scene!

I hope the 7th one because its being split in two will avoid too much being cut!

saw it a second time today, a couple of comments on Katieamy-x's review which was excellent, really agree with most everything she says.

One thing I notice with movies when I watch them the first time in theaters, everything seems rushed, watching the second time I pick up details that I missed and it seems to run at a much better pace. When I first saw the HBP it was rushed the first view, as I notice all movies tend to be, on second viewing the pace is much better, really did not get the rushed aspect that I had the first viewing, whether you go back and watch it again is up to you.

Unhappy half bood prince.

i was also really disapointed when they cut the battle scene at the end of book 6. they should have kept it instead of adding the attack at the borrow scene. i has hoping to cry at the end when D dies and at the funeral. it was emotional and beautiful...i was looking foward to it. i like happy potter because od the strugle with you-know-who and harry. we don't even get to see you-know-who in this movie. i wish they had made 2 movies for book 6 too, so they would have show all the exciting and action scenes. i do not know how they will be able to follow book 7 after they changed book 6 so much.

I hadn't really expected much of this movie, especially after OOTP, which was absolutely horrible. That's why I think this one was half-decent, quite enjoyable with their jokes and all. However, my friends, also a HP fan (thought not as much as me, lol) thinks that it still sucks.

Books > movies. Always.
