What if Snape lived?
I was sitting around wondering what would have happened to Snape if Voldy didn't kill him? Would he have been sent to azkaban for killing Dumbledore? or would he have been a hero for helping the Order fight off Voldy?

I really wished he could have lived... I believe they would have tried to send him to Azkaban, but Harry would have convinced them otherwise allowing Snape to live a free life, however he would have been watched for the rest of his life...

yea he did.... he thought that Snape was the rightful owner of the elder wand so he(Voldy) killed him to try and gain true power over the wand....

i dont think he wud have been sent to azkaban. harry wud not be so heartless. eveyone wud now he was just a spy for dumbledore and tht his death was planned between them (nobody needs to know bout lily). he wud have a high position of honor at the ministry or hogwarts (hello, he saved the "Boy Who Lived"). he wud NOT continue teaching but rather be a spy or auror for the ministry of magic

I don't think that Harry would have let him get sent to Azkaban. I think harry would have respected Snape more, but I don't think they would have been close. They would have gone their own ways.... Maybe Snape would get a job teaching Defense against the dark arts..?!

why would he go to azkaban? he was double-agent, wasn't he. He only had to show MOM his memories about Dumbledore or MOM could ask Dumby's portrait, wouldn't really be a problem. Since he was so brave, he would probably be rewarded in some way, Order of Merlin, perehaps.

In the muggle world helping someone to commit suicide is illegal (so I would assume it's the same for the magic world), and The Ministry of Magic has a record of being a bunch of no good bureaucrats. Harry would have a hard time getting them to release Snape even if he proved Snape was acting on Dumbledore's orders.
