I believe her favorite character is Hermione. She based Hermione off herself quite a bit.

I would probably ask Jo any random question that I really want to know at the time. Maybe the Patronuses of every character in the books.

That would have killed the series, would you start reading a series if you knew the hero that you knew through 6 or 7 books died in the end. Harry does die to remove the horcrux, I am sure that plot line had been in the original story outline, but returns to defeat LV.
